I hope this holiday season finds all my family
and friends looking forward to a better 2002. This has been a year
of surging emotions for us all. The sadness of the events in September
left its mark on all of us. Our family has heavy hearts as cousin
Lori tries to sustain her children after the tragic loss of her
husband Greg.
Unexpected and unintended results of the vicious
attack are the emerging stories of courage and heroism. There is
an awakened sense of patriotism, generosity and even more kindness,
trust and faith than ever before.
Perhaps it's okay to grieve till our hearts
are squeezed dry and not be so jolly this year, but deep down inside,
in that very quiet place, we are thankful to live in the best country
on the planet and that the reasons that make it great, also make
it vulnerable.

Cindy and Mike at home! They're both happily working in NYC
and spending weekends at Home Depot. The Callahan clan is large and
they enjoy visiting with their wonderful family.

I visited Todd in Oregon for Thanksgiving. He's busy with his foundation
which is working with the State on medical marijuana issues. Click

I was fortunate to be able to have many reunions
this year. My Garden City High School 40th reunion took place in
October (I was 2 when I graduated). It was wonderful seeing old
buddies again. Check out the photos at: http://www.tennislbow.com/gchs1961/
